Howdy! I'm Jonah Droge, a senior Film and Media studies undergrad at UC: Santa Barbara. While I've honed in on screenwriting in recent years, I've been writing worlds and designing narratives in the sci-fi and fantasy genres since 2012, driven by my passion to immerse and inspire others in the way I felt when first seeing Star Wars or reading Percy Jackson. My newest passion in writing is video games, which, in my opinion, are the best mediums in which to achieve this because of the potential player agency games have. One day, I hope to immerse players in a unique and memorable story they enjoy and carry on to other aspects of their lives.

More about me

A Wii at 6 years old, playing LEGO Star Wars with my little brother, and nothing else in the world to bother us. From there, Wii Sports Resort, Minecraft, and Terraria shaped the creative side of my head. Having access to unlimited building blocks was enthralling. When I began playing more complex games, like Detroit: Become Human, Uncharted, and Red Dead Redemption 2, I found myself immersed and inspired. I wanted to tell stories like that. To make people feel how I felt playing them.

And as most writers do, I get much of my inspiration from my life.

The Outdoors

Most of my writing is inspired in some way by nature. Whether it's fantasy or sci-fi, the world had to grow from somewhere. It's how all worlds begin.
